So you want to record better audio? Let’s talk about that.
To record the best audio your mic should be no more than3 feet away from your talent. It doesn’t matter what type of mic it is; lavaliere, shot gun mic, doesn’t matter. Often times we find ourselves in situations where getting our mics within 3 feet of our actors becomes very difficult.
A few tips…
- if you don’t have crew you can mount your mic on a cheap mic stand.
- If you have no budget you can use your cell phone to record audio and have one of your actors hold the cell phone just outside of frame.
- When recording sound in tight places like a car, you can mount an H1 zoom recorder on a Pedco Ultra clamp and place it in a variety of locations.
